I’m sitting on my back porch with a cigar and some whisky (and a beer) enjoying the near 60 degree weather before we're destroyed by a blizzard. They say we're in for about 10 inches, but I'll believe it when I see it.

At the brewery after a long day in a car wash. Someone in a minivan kept it in drive so we hit the stops. I went to go and put the bag in her rear wiper but made an epic leap out if the way when she threw it in reverse......and smashed the customer behind her.

It has been a long long LONG day and beer #4 is coming soon. The beer cheese and pretzels have already been inhaled.

I’m annoyed. After bragging about 175k mostly trouble free miles out of my car it has developed an odd noise. After driving at highway speeds it makes various noises that left my mechanic uncle stumped over the phone. Gonna have to take it in some where to have it looked at.

Honestly, I have no problem with the Joe Flacco signing. They may not make the playoffs again, but it’ll be nice to see a Bronco QB actually complete a long bomb pass. It’s been so long. I think it was Kyle Orton, maybe? I like the corner they just signed, and I’ll admit to having no idea about who the tackle they just signed is.

How about you? A nd have you bothered to watch any of the AAF at all? The best game was this past weekend, between Salt Lake and San Diego. Also, the AAF is  a parallel universe where Younghoe Koo is money every time he kicks a field goal.

I don't have Prime. I barely remember to watch the stuff on Netflix that I want to, and I keep forgetting to watch the rest of the Star Trek Discovery episodes on CBS All Access that I haven't seen. It's surprisingly better than I expected. I set the bar very low after Enterprise and they easily cleared it.

Agreed there. We happen to be on some weird weather dividing line where I live. My guess is if anyone gets dumped on, it’ll be south of us. Or it’ll be us, and everyone just south will get nothing.

Stuck in Dallas on work travel. And I have to share a rental car so I’m effectively stuck in the hotel after work. Could go out to dinner but I’m catching up on watching some Mr Robot instead! Counting down the days until next next weekend though since I’ll be skiing in Salt Lake again.

This coming weekend I'm stuck in Dallas but at least I'm planning on renting something fun and driving to a parking lot with a bunch of orange cones in it arranged for no particular reason..

The more and faster I drive the sooner the sound starts and the louder it gets. It’s rotational. As I slow down it starts making a rubbing noise. Usually starts below 20mph or so. Under acceleration it makes a clacking/knocking noise. If I just coast, no real noticeable sound. But, if I apply some throttle I can induce the clacking/knocking sound. If I’m not moving and rev, no noise. Applying brakes does not affect the noise. Doesn’t matter if I’m in neutral, clutch in and in gear, or in gear with no clutch.

And tomorrow, if it is not a miscommunication, I will have to deliver the “no, they do NOT know better than me, now DO WHAT I SAY ” lecture . Which will lead to making the idiot vendor go back and rebuild all the systems, from zero, in place, with a crash cart. Work was frustrating and stressful today, and even worse, I found out my friend had to put her dog down yesterday . She’s having a really hard time. I’m sad for her, for the dog, and selfishly sad that the only dog left in my life is now gone.

I’m drinking a beer and eating garbage food right now. It’s helping a little. After this I’ll try to distract myself with trip planning and Futurama. I don’t think I’ll have the heart look through the new adoptable dogs on petfinder tonight.

I’m doing okay, my therapist and I have been working on changing my thinking patterns from constant self hate and perfectionism and unrealistic expectations to trying to love myself and have more realistic expectations. We’ve also been working on grief from my mothers death and guilt for her dying and her alcoholism and bipolar disorder. It’s been incredibly difficult work but I think I’m starting to see some positive results instead of just pain and repressed memories and trauma.

Instead of expecting or thinking that I should be happy all the time to be a good person or be like able or lovable we are looking for good moments in my day and living to my expectations instead of my families.

So by this new measure yesterday was a good day because I had 6 good moments that made me feel a little better about myself. Also instead of shooting them down with perfectionism and expectations I was able to see them as good things about myself instead of dismissing themselves and just hating myself.

So I think this is starting to work and I’m hoping to continue to see benefits.

On an mostly  unrelated note, I’ve been questioning my sexuality a lot and I feel a bit confused in that arena. So I should probably bring that up in therapy or something.
